Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival | Airport → Udawalawe

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a Shafa Journeys representative. Travel to Udawalawe, one of Sri Lanka’s premier wildlife destinations. In the evening, enjoy your first exciting jeep safari through Udawalawe National Park, famous for its large elephant population and diverse wildlife.

Day 2 – Udawalawe → Yala

After breakfast, visit the Elephant Transit Home, where rescued elephant calves are cared for before returning to the wild. Continue your journey to Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife reserve. Relax at your hotel before an evening at leisure.

Day 3 – Full-Day Safari at Yala National Park

Enjoy a full-day safari through Yala National Park, home to one of the world’s highest densities of leopards. Keep an eye out for elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, wild buffalo, and hundreds of bird species while exploring diverse landscapes.

Day 4 – Yala → Bundala → Mirissa

After breakfast, visit Bundala National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve renowned for its migratory birds, flamingos, crocodiles, and lagoons. Continue to the beautiful coastal town of Mirissa, where you can relax by the beach.

Day 5 – Mirissa → Bentota

Start the day with an optional Whale Watching Tour (seasonal). Afterwards, travel along Sri Lanka’s scenic southern coastline to Bentota. Visit a Turtle Conservation Hatchery and enjoy a peaceful Madu River Boat Safari, exploring mangroves and small islands.
