Meet Our Founder – Riyaz "RiRi"
At the heart of Shafa Journeys is Riyaz, affectionately known as “RiRi” by the thousands of happy travelers who have explored Sri Lanka with him. His warm personality, genuine hospitality, and passion for sharing the beauty of his homeland have earned him a reputation as one of Sri Lanka’s most trusted and engaging tour professionals.
RiRi began his career as a National Tourist Guide Lecturer licensed by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). Throughout his career, he gained invaluable experience working with some of Sri Lanka’s most respected destination management companies, including Acme Travels, Jetwing Travels, and Aitken Spence Travels. These experiences allowed him to work with travelers from around the world while developing an in-depth understanding of Sri Lanka’s culture, history, wildlife, landscapes, and hidden treasures.
Driven by a lifelong dream of creating personalized travel experiences, RiRi founded Shafa Journeys in 2024. His vision was simple yet powerful: to offer authentic, tailor-made journeys that go beyond traditional sightseeing, allowing every guest to experience the true spirit of Sri Lanka.
